First Steps......

Here is a short video clip of Zach starting to take some steps. He has been doing this for the last few weeks, but doesn't seem to be in any hurry to master it. You've got to love the "dog-like" panting that goes along with it.

11 months old...

Well, to continue on with the tradition, I need to give you Zach's 11 month update. It is so hard for me to believe that in less than 1 month my little boy is going to be 1! How did this happen? The year has gone by so fast.
At 11 months Zach is...

1. Taking steps.. he has taken up to 10 steps on his own. He mostly walks along furniture, but still doesn't really try to walk without holding on unless you make him walk to something. His favorite mode of transportation is still crawling.

2. He is starting to take his bottle better... hmm, now that he is supposed to be done with the thing in 1 month. Great! Looking forward to breaking him of it.

3. He is starting to eat better. Last night he actually had hamburger, Graduate Carrots & Graduate Pears for dinner. This is a big step. Of course, I had to hide the jars that the carrots and pears came from, or else he would start his whole gag reflex routine. I have kept him on baby food so much longer than I did with Taylor, but it has worked for him ... so whatever.

4. He is starting to talk... He says Dada, Mama, Baba, Baww... for Ball.

5. He can wave, do the sign for more, do SO BIG when asked how big he is, clap, blow kisses & gives kisses.

5. He is AGGRESSIVE! When he sees something, he goes after it. He likes to climb on everything, and he is quite good at getting himself into precarious situations.

6. He is a big cheesier... but when you try to take him away from something he wants to be doing he already has the tantrum down pretty well. He likes to lay his head down on the floor, or even bang it sometimes, kick & arch his back.... pretty much anything he can do to get you to drop him and allow him to return back to his activity of choice.

7. He has been different in just about every way from our first child. I am so thankful that God has given me the chance to be his Mommy. I am thankful that I am learning how to be a Mommy to a little boy, and a different kind of Mommy than I needed to be the first time around. Who knew? I didn't have it down after the first time around after all! ha..ha...

Little Swimmers

We were finally able to spend 4 days in the sun, swimming in Grammie & Papa's pool! The kids love it, and I love it when they are able to go down for a nap! :)

Red rimmed eyes... Zach did not want to sit still for a picture, the minute he starts to cry his face blotches up, and he get all red around the eyes.

Zach loves his baby pool.

Isn't this picture insane? This is Taylor's favorite... being thrown up in the air by Daddy. Of course, she wants to do it again.. and again... and again.

Fun in a box

I don't think much is needed in the way of an explanation for these pictures. Everyone knows a box can provide hours of fun & entertainment. So, next time you are wondering what toy to buy for your child...

So exciting!

House update

Add Image

I am a TON of catching up to do on this blog, but for now I am going to post an update on the house. We are FINALLY done with the roof, the doors and the painting. The only thing left to do is landscaping... oh, and a few minor details like an exterior light for over the door and numbres on the side of the house. Yeah! I am extremely happy with how the house turned out, and would highly recommend VanTuinen painting to anyone who is looking for a good painting company. Anyway, here are a couple of pictures from this morning.

Future Artist

Here is the family picture Taylor drew on my white board in my office at work. I had to bring the kids into the office with me on Monday morning because of a miscommunication at daycare. She was closed, and I didn't realize it. Thanks to my friend Angie for taking my kids at the last minute!

Anyway, what do you think? Future Picasso?

Happy Independence Day!

From our family to yours! I hope you have a great holiday, and most of all that you can spend time with those you love.
This was the best of many attempts to get them in a shot together. I'll post more pictures later.
