Today was Zach's 6 month check up. I am happy to report he is 16#, 26.5" long and seems to be over the worst of his back to back teething... for now. :) He is doing great, although we had to forego the shots today due to his recently aquired runny nose and cold. I asked the Dr. if I should be worried about Zach's lack of interest in rolling over, and he assured me after checking him out that he is very strong and it was not a developmental delay but instead just a lack of interest. This is a relief, because it just seems so odd to not have a baby who rolls around the room. I also discussed Zach's recent increasing attachment to me, which the Dr. assured me was normal for 6 months.. and he probably just has an extreme case of seperation anxiety. For those of you who don't know, Zach has recently decided he wants nothing to do with daycare and cries for most of the day until I pick him up. He has also decided he will not go into the church nursery & is just not happy with others in general... although he has been slowly coming around with Daddy. This is hard on me.. because I know if I am around he won't be so upset... and I know he just wants his Mama! This week was a pretty big week for Zach, as he has started taking formula 1x per day... and has no problem with it. Yeah! Such a big boy. He is loving that he can sit and play with toys & he loves to stand at his activity table. I can't believe how fast these last 6 months have flown by. We love you Zachy!

17 days......

I really need a vacation. I need to get out of this wet, cold, grey slush. Only 17 days until we leave for Florida. We are going to the Marriott OceanPointe resort this year, and I think we are all pretty excited. One of the requirements this year for the resort was a kiddie-pool... so we can sort of attempt to lay out in the sun while Taylor plays. Although, I am guessing Zach may be keeping us pretty busy this year. Here is a picture of where we will be staying. I just can't wait... although at this point none of us really have anything to wear once we get down there. Oh well... I guess that means I might have to do some shopping. Darn. :) Today was my first visit to the tanner... I figured I may need to get a little color before heading down, so I don't burn to a crisp. When you have a chance, ask Ben what happened to him at the tanner this week... hee. hee... :)

Pics
Taylor likes to get in bed with Zach (supervised of course). He thinks it's very exciting to have her laying next to him.
Watch out Taylor.. he has quite the grip.
Zach has discovered the joy of standing... Yet, another reason for him not to roll. He can't pull himself up yet, but if you stand him against his activity table he can stand for up to 10 minutes.
So exciting! Such a strong boy.
Who me? You would never guess he has cried all day for Daddy, would you?
Cancun here we come...

For those of you who didn't know I recently made President's Club for work, and the reward this year is a full expense paid 4 day trip to Cancun, Mexico. The top 20 Placement Managers, as well as a variety of other top finishers make President's Club, and the destination is somewhere new each year. We just found out last week, so Ben and I are getting excited to go in late April. Here is a quick shot of the hotel we will be staying at... Cancun Palace. Can you tell it can't come fast enough? I'll make sure to post some pictures after the trip.
Central Incisor
So, I will have to post pictures at a later date because I am currently at work and my camera and pictures are at home. Yesterday was President's day and therefore "Daddy Daycare" was in full session. Ben was looking forward to a day home with the kids.. for a little quality time.. or so he thought. As it turned out, Zachary had a very rough day.. with very little sleep and a lot of crying. Just as Ben was about to throw in the towel... just kidding honey- he discovered Zachary was getting his first tooth! Ahh.. finally an answer for all of the maddness. You can't really even see the tooth, but you can feel it poking up through the gum with your finger. I know, this is way too much information for those of you who don't have kids. Anyway, I tried to get some pictures last night, and pretty much had no luck capturing a picture of the tooth. I was, however, able to capture several pictures (see Pics post above) of a suddenly very happy boy.... figures as it was about 20 minutes before he was supposed to go to bed for the night.

Chi Town
This past weekend Ben, Zach and I took a trip to Chicago to visit our friends Jen, Chad & their 5 month old Gavin. As usual, we had tons of fun with Harris family and this trip was especially fun because we were able to watch our 2 boys together who are exactly 3 weeks apart. Taylor stayed home with Grammie & Papa & had a fabulous time.
Some of the highlights of our trip were going out on Saturday night without the kids! Jen's Mom & Dad watched the boy's so we could get out. We went to a restaurant for dinner, drinks and conversation and then went back to their house where we proceeded to stay up WAY to late. The night was full of fun times and guitar hero. :) Our trip home was a crazy experience as we were caught in white out conditions, as well as a completely iced over highway. Ben and I had never really experienced anything like it. There were cars off the highway to our left and right, so we drove slow and concentrated on staying on the road.
Here are some pictures of our boys together!
Thanks again Jen & Chad for being such great hosts! We only wish we lived closer so we could do it more often! We had so much fun and look forward to seeing you guys again soon.

A fun filled Thursday evening....
Ouch. Watch out Mr. Dolphin. We think he might be getting teeth... this is how Zach spends 99% of his time these days.
I can't remember the last time we actually used this swing.
Last night, after a lot of crankiness... he finally fell asleep in there.
Profiles....Do you think they are related? You be in the judge?
Doesn't Zach look happy? Loving every moment.. Taylor hasn't quite mastered
the gentle hug yet. She means well.
Random
I thought it might be fun to read today after Taylor got up from her nap, but she was having nothing to do with it. We were sitting on the floor in her room, and I was attempting to read the Velveteen Rabbit.. and I look over to find Taylor with a dazed expression on her face, so I said - Would you like me to stop? Here is where the conversation begins-
Me: "would you like to stop reading?"
Taylor: "Yes"
Me: "Oh, Ok. Why?"
Taylor: "I think my milky is waiting for me"
Me: " Oh, it is... is it? how do you know that?"
Taylor: " Because that's what happens sometimes. I wake up from my nap, and my Milky is waiting for me to drink it. "....
What a good excuse.
