Leonard Life: Arrival

Well, we made it. 20 hours of driving, and we arrived at the Disney Pop Century Resort in the pouring rain. We pretty much drove through 5 straight hours of rain from Georgia to Florida. Lauren did much better in the car this time, and Zach and Taylor were a little more whiney, but they took naps so it was manageable.. We told Taylor we were taking them to Disney about half way through the trip, and she was so excited she did her typical laugh with tears in her eyes. I don’t think she knew what to expect, but she couldn’t wait to meet the “real Princesses”. We had to explain to her that we wouldn’t be going to Magic Kingdom until the following day, but she didn’t seem to mind. Around 2:00 we arrived at our resort The Disney Pop Century, and the kids were pretty much bouncing off the walls. Our room was pretty tiny, and since it was raining, we were cooped up inside until Grammie & Papa arrived and we could all go out to dinner. So, we took the kids for a late lunch at our resorts food court and spent $49 on lunch for 4 (Yikes).

For dinner, we decided to take the shuttle bus to Downtown Disney, so we packed up the troops and made it downtown by about 7:00… nothing like having to be go with the flow on vacation). Schedules were completely off, but that’s just how we had to roll. We were hoping to eat at Rainforest Cafe, which is always a favorite for the kids, but it was a 2 hour wait… so we had to pass and we ate at a place called Earl of Sandwich which was outstanding and actually reasonably priced. We then ventured in and out of shops including; Ghirardelli where I had my favorite Mocha & Taylor convinced her Grammie to buy her a bag of bulk candy from Goofie’s Candy Shop, which came to a whopping $8!! Seriously, everything costs a fortune in the place. Anyway, after walking around for a bit we took the shuttle back to our Resort and got the kids to bed by about 10:00. It was a very long day, and the next day was going to be a BIG day!
