SMLS Preschool Christmas Program

Night 2 of Christmas programs was the preschool night. They have such a large preschool at St. Mikes that they have started to perform in 3 different parts of the building to accommodate the audience. Our first year attending, it was standing room only! Crazy. So, this year we watched the performance in the covenant area of the church. Zach's group was the last group we saw for the evening, so it was the 3rd time they had performed in front of a big group of people. To say Zach had a bit of a rough time would be putting it mildly... My first clue that something was up came when he was refusing to walk up the risers, and had to be walked up them with a helper like a baby. Next he would NOT stop fidgeting with his hands, pulling up his sweater.. playing with his pants, and sticking his tongue out. Finally, he took things a little too far when he basically pulled his pants down & flashed the entire audience.. needless to say, he was promptly removed from the stage. It went from being a little bit funny, to mortifying really fast. I'm not sure what was going on... I think he just felt overwhelmed, hot and nervous. As his teacher said after the performance, "this was a first for St. Michael Lutheran School". Sweet, the kind of thing I want my child to be known for!
