Leonard Life: Spring Break 2011 Hilton Head

Ok, let me start this day out by saying I've realized I wasn't very good about taking pictures while in Hilton Head. I'm not sure why, but everything was pretty random.. maybe it was the whole juggling 3 kids in a hotel factor, but looking back I wish I had been better and had actually taken a picture of the outside of our hotel or dinner or SOMETHING. It really was beautiful! Anyway, so day 2 went pretty smooth.. we had a bit of a long drive.. Lauren showed some rather feisty behavior.. threw a hour long tantrum over wanting some crackers, and she only slept for about 1 hour of 11 hour drive.. so it was LONG for everyone as you can imagine. Ben was getting pretty tired by North Carolina, so I drove us through South Carolina to Hilton Head Island. It took forever to actually get out on the Island..and it was pretty, but different. We learned very quickly that everything is covered with trees.. so while the Island you can't really catch a glimpse of the beach until you get through the trees and out onto the other side of your hotel.. it's hard to explain. We were all very happy to arrive to 80 degree weather and a beautiful Marriott hotel. The first night we ordered a pizza in our room, and hit the pools & beach. Day 2 was spent outside at the pools and dinner out at a restaurant. Here are some random pictures.

The scenery on day 2... coming up on the mountains in Virginia & lots of rain... We ended up driving in the rain until we got to North Carolina and that was when we hit beautiful 75 degree weather.

Still a snotty, runny nose for the start of the trip.. but she sure is cute.

First things first.. we were off to check out the pools.

Swimming in the indoor pool.. this is big stuff for Zach. He was sitting on the first step.. could this mean he would actually go in the water this vacation?

Our view from our balcony! Ben & spent the evenings on our balcony after we put the kids to bed because we had no where else to go! Our kids will not fall asleep with lights on or with Mom & Dad sitting in the room talking.

We hit the beach for a late night stroll after swimming in the indoor pool. So many people out on the beach. It was a beautiful 80 degree night in South Carolina, and I was shocked to see how wide our beach was!

Morning...Don't let the smiles fool you... our first night was a rough one. Lauren was not happy to be in a pack n play, and she didn't really understand being in the same room as everyone else. To say it was rough was an understatement. I think everyone was up until about 11pm. She finally fell asleep with me holding her hand over the side of the pack n play..

My fish! Thrilled to be swimming after a long winter. It took her a few minutes to get the hang of it again, but she was soon swimming all over the pool. Our hotel had both an indoor and outdoor pool.. so we took turns outside for Mommy & inside for Taylor.

Packing up to drive another 11 hours the next morning! The only picture I took of our hotel room. See what I mean? Not great pics. The excitement of the morning was when Daddy went to the beach early in the morning and found a star fish sand crab and brought it back to the room for the kids! They were so excited.
